Background: After growing up in Georgia, Dr. Hayes went to medical school in the midwest before returning home. During residency, he was the recipient of the Peer Teacher Award and served as a chief resident during his PGY-3 year. In 2020, he was recognized as an ACP Herbert S. Waxman Chief Resident Teaching Scholar and has won the Ambulatory Faculty of the Year in both 2022 and 2023. After completing residency, he began serving as internal medicine faculty before transitioning to an associate program director role in 2023. In addition to Internal Medicine board certification, he is also certified by the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine. His medical interests including primary care, evidence-based medicine (EBM) and lifestyle medicine. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family and remains involved with his church community.
